doh >.<

you have to at least specify a target. Other things to specify would include whether you're casting it from the wand, of casting it normally. Wait, you also have to move so you can see your target to cast on it.

I use my wand to cast magic missile on the closest orc.

you still have to move somewhere >.< that was the most important part. right now there's a wall between you and the entire fight. It's late at night here, so I'll leave this till morning... ok, I moved for you.
you hit the orc with magic missile... *1*+1=2 damage. The orc goes down.

yay map =D

This brings us back to Dracoth's turn, sorry for skipping you last time )=

target? -_- I'll default to the nearest orc...
*14* crap... that's close enough that I have to go look at the modifiers. ok, your dex is +4 so the total attack roll is 18 aaand... *checks orc stats* rofl XD you're lucky that guy doesn't have a shield.
ok, damage now *1* well, at least you hit him...

"your arrow flies past Merrak's head by a couple of inches and grazes the nearest orc."
(you were 1 point away from having the arrow target Merrak instead, fortunately it wouldn't have hit him anyway because he's so crazy nimble)

EDIT: oh yeah, Rhonal's turn

well, no one is hurt so i dont need to heal, adn i dont think i can shoot into the melee soooooo i will pull out my bo and attack the nearest orc.

btw, I'm not sure if i can reach him, so if i cant, that means im just running to join the melee.

eww XP icky 1st level makes it hard(er) to draw weapons. "You draw your bo and move past Ulfgar, but can't attack." (draw=action, move=action)

That was nice and quick. orcs go now =o

mmaky, one of them gets his wits about and yells (in orc). "Get out here you lazy bums! We're being attacked!"

DM notes -> 6,2,6,8,1,4,10,9,1,12 (don't bother deciphering it, it's coded ;D)

now on to their actions...

Rhonal moved to a very (very) convenient spot for them, and neither of the other two people in easy reach have dealt damage.

Attack 1: *holy crap!*=17 damage (I wanted to fudge the rolls, but I'm not gonna deny the orc his crit)

okies... the orc in front (with the falchion) makes a broad swing, gets lucky, and cuts you deeply across the chest as soon as you step forward.

Rather than attack a downed opponent, the orc in back is going to move forward and attack Ulfgar (he's only stepping on you...)

Attack 2: *??* he swings and misses you completely. The other orc got all the lucky attack rolls.

He tries to mimic the other orc's attack, but misjudges distance. He overswings by a lot and strikes the wall*. Stone chips fly and he puts a decent dent in it.

* One of my house rules is that if I notice a good point to add collateral damage to missed attacks (without big gameplay effects) I usually do. It especially applies to major misses and large weapons.

End result, Rhonal is at -7 hp and has an orc in his space (but he's not dead yet) and it's Ulfgar's turn.

MAP =O

damn. bad luck on my part. for those of you new to D&D, any hp below 1 means i am unconcious and dying. to stabalize me so i dont die, someone needs to use a turn to tend to me.

lol - thanx jaegar. i guess my great rolls affected my karma.

go get'em guys. and dont do anything too stupid while i'm out.

btw, do you know about the action point system? It's a system that lets you do "heroic" stuff a limited number of times per level. You spend the points to get useful effects, and each level you get a given # of points. One of the simplest (and useful) effects is to automatically stabilize when you would otherwise have to roll to see if you stabilize.

I would say "i turn and use heal on Rhonal" but i dont have heal as a skill, and if i can kill a orc, that proble would help just as much.
I walk around Rhonal making sure he is behind me, i Attcka with my Dwarven Waraxe

I also forgot, whoever is after me, use heal on Rhonal, and if posable by the next, use Cure Light Wounds

falco - im the heal *****. no one else has cure light wounds. ill do it myself when i wake up.

btw, i forogt to say. -10 points means im dead.

jae - that sounds useful, nvr heard of that. after i stabilize, will i wake up? ill see what happens before my next turn to decide to do it or not.
