Gamers Strike Back Against Misinformed Shrink

This is a few days old, but I just heard about it now. Apparently Fox News (a very right-leaning news channel, for those unfamiliar with Fox News) had a segment on Mass Effect (an XBox360 game), accusing the game of containing 'full frontal nudity', which is an entirely false claim, for those that have played the game. Basically, gamers are pissed off at Fox News, and right fully so, given the highly biased and false allegations about Mass Effect (and video games in general). Even Electronic Arts has asked Fox News for an apology.

In either case, it appears that gamers are venting their wraith on Lawrence Cooper's (the psychologist that took part in the segment) book reviews on Amazon:

Some of the 1-star reviews were funny. Too bad Amazon's deleting the one-star reviews, some pissed off gamers are continuing to post 1-star reviews. The word tags that people put on this book are just hilarious. Check it out:

My personal favorites are "cooch smells like rotting intestines" and "you can reset the reviews but you are still just awful". LOL.

rofl that's one of the funniest things I've seen in a loooong time. The transcript of the news bit is absolutely hilarious too. I love it when idiots argue themselves in way over their heads then keep digging deeper by refusing to admit the slightest imperfection in their logic. You have to wonder where she gets her research too after this part

Lawrence: (interrupting) Darling, I gotta go with the research. And the research says there’s a new study out of the University of Maryland right now that says that boys that play video games cannot tell the difference between what they’re seeing in the video game and the real world…

I dunno about you, but I'm fully aware that I can't turn invisible at will or run around a war zone with an SMG dying repeatedly for fun >.>

The title of her book is also worth an lol by itself too. I think I wanna meet this lady to better confirm/deny/ridicule her insanity.

O.o ROFL!!! Amazon itself is unintentionally ridiculing her! Someone mentioned mass effect in one (or more) of the reviews which has caused an ad for Mass Effect to appear on the right side of the reviews page.

i havent played mass effects but there again i havent seen any nude games for 360 either.....
where do these people get this junk of games always having nude in???
i havent played a single one *well dead rising probably gets the closest but not nude*
i have playyed alot of games (violence in most) and i havent turned into one of these thugs who mug people....
only thing games have done is scared me when young *but now its jest fun*
the THUGS and VIOLENCE and SEXUAL is from how your parents raise you not on what you play <.<

True, I didnt turn into a psychopath either. But it isnt all your parents fault either.
Most of the things you learn from your parents, the rest you get from people around you and the things you experience in the outside world, so to say

If your parents dont raise you well enough you'll fill the gap they leave with other things. sometimes those are bad things
