nVIDIA Forceware 169.21 BETA Drivers Released

Post by Yoon »

For those that have nVIDIA-based graphics cards and are using a GeForce FX (XP only), 6, 7 or 8-series, nVIDIA has released another beta driver this week, Forceware 169.21. There's certainly been a lot of Forceware driver releases in the past month. This driver offers the following improvements:

* Added support for GeForce 8800 GTS 512 GPU.
* Recommended driver for the latest DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL applications.
* Numerous game and application compatibility fixes. Please refer to the release documentation for more information on features, driver fixes, and known issues

EDIT: nVIDIA has released the WHQL version of the Forceware 169.21 drivers for Windows XP and XP x64. Other than the WHQL approval, there are no differences between these and the beta Forceware 169.21 drivers.

Installation Instructions:

1.) Unininstall the NVIDIA drivers from "Program Add/Remove"
2.) Install and Run Driver Sweeper with "NVIDIA Display" selected. (It's recommended to do this, so that left over data from old graphics drivers don't conflict with the new ones.)
3.) Restart the computer.
4.) Install the new Forceware drivers.
