TomTom's Guide to Horde Leveling

Post by Lozal »

Levels 1-8
Your starting area, just grab all of the available quests and grind away.

Levels 8-12
Once you hit 8 run to the following zones, Bloodhoof Village (Tauren), Brill (Undead), Razor Hill (Orc & Troll), Falconwing Square (Blood Elf). I recommend the killing wolves, plainstriders, and cougar quest line in Bloodhoof Village for quick leveling. Or for Razor Hill I recommend the quest that have you kill Razormine or the Humans. Complete all of the quests in both Brill (should get you to 18 or so) and Falconwing Square.

Levels 12-22
Orc, Troll, Tauren - The Barrens (if you can stand the chat)
Undead - Brill
Blood Elf - Skip Fairbreeze Village and move on to Tranquilian in Ghostlands (there are good quests at the boarder zone).
In the Barrens I recommend the Razormine and the raptor killing quests and once you hit 20 move down to Camp Taurajo. From there you can kill scorpids and grubs till 22 and then move to the southeast corner of the Barrens. There are Dwarves that give good exp and money till 25.
Tranquilian has a ton of questage and level up places. Suncrown Village, An'daroth for the low end, Goldenmist Village and the Dead Scar for medium, Amani Tombs and Deathlome for the high end.

Levels 22-30
The dreaded Hillsbrad Foothills. This place is a constant warzone with one fraction invading the others and killing all of the NPC's. I suggest not attacking any alliance in this zone, because they might have a level 70 character and they will find you and kill you and every Horde in the zone. Here's my experience with the zone - I get gang raped on my 26 paladin by 2 level 32 alliance characters. I bring my 65 Shaman to the zone and kill them both. They then get their Tier 2 level 62 Paladin to pwn me into the ground.
First start off by killing the bears and cougars in Darrow Hill (west of Tarren Mill). Then when you hit 24 get the Battle of Hillsbrad quest chain. Once you finish the quest chain you will be about 28. You can then either go south along the river to the Eastern Strand and fight Naga until you are 30.

Levels 30-40
You have 3 choices Hillsbrad Yeti's in Darrow Hill then Arathi Highlands Yeti's, Alteric Mountains, or as I chose Desolace.
Desolace is nice because there isn't many people around and every mob from 32-40 is around Shadowprey Village (it's a little difficult to get to though).
Alteric Mountains just quest and grind (I haven't leveled up, but there are mobs from 32-40).

Levels 40-45
Badlands - quest grind or just grind. Camp Cagg has good Ogres to level off and there is a nest of Greater Earth Elementals near there. Also there is a lot of mini dragons in Lethlor Ravine to kill.

More to come.

I basically try to avoid the "high traffic" areas in WoW. I really haven't leveled much and spent 100+ gold on getting weaponsmithing.
