It appears that Square-Enix might be coming out with a Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS, as a countdown site has appeared on Square-Enix Japan's website:
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ctds/
It doesn't say explicitly, but given the 'CTDS' in the URL, the Chrono Trigger-style clock and sound, it's highly likely that it's Chrono Trigger. That would be great, since it's been a while since a Chrono game came out, despite it being just a port.
Chrono Trigger DS?

Re: Chrono Trigger DS?
I've been wanting to play chrono triger for soooo long. Did you know the used SNES copies are priced at $65? >.<
Whatever that countdown is for, we're gonna find out in 5 days or so (assuming I didn't hit a wrong button while converting 400k seconds).

Re: Chrono Trigger DS?
it is possible that it could be getting rereleased
exsample look at the final fantasty games or super mario original
its like as if the DS was used to recreate game already made but better looking *but most games that have been remodled have been from SNES/NES
so mabey it is the crono trigger we all know and love

Anyhow, RPGfan posted their hands-on description of Chrono Trigger DS at E3:
It appears that it'll be an enhanced port with a few extras. I was hoping for a remake or something new, but an enhanced port of the original is nice too.Last, but far from least, is the DS port of Chrono Trigger. As with Final Fantasy IV, players will recieve the bonus content from the PSone version of the game, the bonus dungeon and FMV sequences. However, the majority of the game remains unchanged. While there is an additional bonus dungeon that is related to the story somehow, as well as some new multiplayer content, Square Enix was unable to go into details yet as to what this new content would entail. One thing Square Enix was forthcoming about was the fact that purist fans of the series would be able to play Chrono Trigger DS in single screen mode, with the game appearing as GBA titles do on the DS.
